Today, we will be discussing the article written by Dr. Jensen entitled ,"The Pink Triangle and Political Consciousness: Gays, Lesbians, and the Memory of Nazi Persecution," published in 2002 in the Journal of the History of Sexuality, which traces the development of collective memories of Nazi persecution in both the American and German homosexual communities over the span of thirty years, Erik Jensen has been a successful businessman and a prominent figure amongst the Scandinavian communities through his role as the Danish Consul General in Victoria for over 30 years. He is a life-long supporter of Scandinavian culture, history and languages having contributed to many books and research on the subject. Erik Jensen grew up in and out of trouble with the law, at 18 it finally landed him in the New York State Department of Corrections. He was incarcerated in numerous facilities, including Five Points, Attica, and the now infamous Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York.
